EVP Business & Legal Affairs; Paramount Kids & Family

Rob leads the thirty-member Business and Legal Affairs team at Paramount Kids & Family, where he has happily spent the past four years, partnering with the Nickelodeon studios and the AwesomenessTV studio to develop, produce, and distribute kids, family and YA programming for Paramount+ , Nickelodeon, Apple TV+, and Netflix, such as, from the Animation Studio, SpongeBob Square Pants, Tiny Chef and the newest Avatar Legend of Korra sequel, and, from the live action studios, series like XO Kitty, School Spirits and iCarly and films such as GoodBurger2, Monster High and Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado, which is currently in preproduction in Colombia.

Rob’s first foray into media was as a writer/reporter at Time Inc. Magazines, where he discovered an affinity with the clearance lawyers that led him on his ultimate career path. During the 15 years prior to joining Paramount Kids & Family, Rob worked in production legal for HBO, where he was legal lead, covering development, production, clearance, and compliance, on shows like Succession, Girls and Barry. At HBO he played a leading role in the creation of on-set Intimacy Consultants, which have since become the industry standard. Prior to HBO, he was an attorney at O’Melveny & Myers where he worked in the real estate finance group and also developed a robust new media practice.

Rob is a graduate of Brandeis University and USC Law, and lives in Santa Monica with his husband, Justin Pertschuk, and their nine-year-old twins, Ella Rae and Wyatt.
