Mark Mazie

Senior Vice President, Business Affairs; Universal Studio Group

Mark Mazie is Senior Vice President, Business Affairs at Universal Studio Group (USG), the powerhouse umbrella for Universal Television, UCP, Universal Television Alternative Studio and Universal International Studios. USG produces over 3,000 hours of programming currently airing or streaming around the globe. In this role, he is involved in a wide array of negotiations for the studios, including lead negotiator for UCP, with respect to deals for rights acquisitions, co-financing arrangements, license agreements and actor, writer, director and producer deals.

Before joining USG, Mazie was Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs at Legendary Television and Digital Media, where he oversaw the Business and Legal Affairs department for all television operations. Previously, Mazie was Senior Vice President, Legal Affairs at Paramount Television, where he oversaw all production legal, as well as the credits, contracts and casting administration departments.

Earlier in his career, Mazie worked at The Walt Disney Company, rising the ranks to Chief Legal Officer overseeing the ABC Television Network, ABC television stations and The Disney-ABC Cable Networks Group. He also completed stints at Granada Entertainment and the law firm of Katz, Golden & Rosenman LLP.

Mazie received his Juris Doctorate from Pepperdine University School of Law, cum laude, and his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Southern California, where he attended USC’s School of Cinematic Arts.
